Jupiter Lifeline Hospitals said it is planning to set up a state-of-the-art neuro rehabilitation centre in UK with an investment of around 50 million pounds or Rs 500 crore
The proposed rehabilitation center in the UK to have 100 bed inpatient capacity will benefit patients of stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, progressive & non progressive neurological disorders and sports injuries.
The centre is expected to create 500 jobs when fully operational.
“I’m very pleased that Jupiter Lifeline Hospitals has decided to join the legions of Indian companies investing in the UK, boosting our healthcare sector and driving economic growth,” UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is in India on an official tour.
"With this project, we aim to set up the finest rehabilitation institute backed by advanced technology and research to give patients the best chance to win their war against disability," said Dr. Ankit Thakker, executive director and CEO, Jupiter Hospitals.
"We look forward to working closely with the NHS to make this accessible to the entire community, and not just restrict it for the elites,” Thakker added.
Thakker is a medical doctor and an alumnus of the London School of Economics (LSE).
Jupiter Hospitals, is one of the largest multi-specialty hospital chains in Western India with hospitals in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
