Dr. Tarang Kulkarni is a leading pulmonologist practicing at Jupiter Hospital, Thane. He has completed his post-graduation from the center of excellence in pulmonary medicine at Fortis Hospital, Kolkata. He has a vast experience in treating patients with respiratory diseases including critically ill and sleep disorders. His special interests include Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases, COVID-19 infections, Tuberculosis, Interventional Pulmonologyand Interstitial Lung Diseases. 

He was a part of panel of experts in drafting the Indian Adult Influenza and Pneumococcal vaccination guidelines- 2019. He has also been a part of teaching faculty at the European Respiratory Society- Adult Respiratory Medicine examination training course in 2020 and 2021.

Dr.Tarang Kulkarni was awarded the prestigious ‘Dr. J.C. Kothari Young Scientist Award’ in 2021 for his work on Obstructive Airway Disease and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. The paper was also presented at the European Respiratory Congress in 2019 and 2020 at Paris and Madrid respectively.

He is an avid researcher and academician and has been invited as faculty in several national and international medical conferences and training workshops. With a keen interest in medical research, he has published several book chapters and research articles in indexed international journals.

  • Guideline based diagnosis and Treatment of Respiratory Diseases.
  • Effective Communication skills.
  • Thoracic ultrasound and guided placement of Chest Drains and Indwelling Pleural Catheters.
  • Flexible bronchoscopy and allied procedures like Endobronchial biopsy, Transbronchial lung biopsy and Brushing for diagnosis of range of pulmonary diseases including lung cancer.
  • Endobronchial Ultrasound with transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) to help in diagnosis of mediastinal lymph node diseases and staging of lung cancer.
  • Medical Thoracoscopy and Pleurodesis for management of pleural diseases like tuberculosis, lung and pleural cancers.
  • Assessment and diagnosis of Sleep disorders and home non-invasive ventilation.
